    Description

    a 19th century oval basket with lid and original hardware from Zhejiang, China circa 1880. The basket was purchased in November 1998 from Contes D'Orient Gallery in Aberdeen, Hong Kong by its original owner and I have his original paperwork and bill of sale. I acquired the basket in a sale of the owner's personal items. He was an author and collector of Asian and African artifacts. The basket is made of bamboo, cane, and lacquer. It is in overall good condition. It measures 15 1/2 inches H (39.7 cm) x 14 inches W (35.9 cm) x 12 inches D (30.7 cm).
