    Description

    This is an antique Japanese finely woven brass basket with a lid. I am not sure what it was used for. I have always been curious. If any one can enlighten me, I would appreciate it.My mother owned  it for 50 years and it was old when she purchased it. It has a floral scene with a bird on the top of the lid, and it has a floral scene inside of the basket. The weaving is done with extremely fine brass  wire. The lid fits snuggly.  The color is more yellow in person.
