    Description

I have for sale a rare Wild Heerbrugg RDS Techymeter surveying instrument.
The RDS is one of the rarer theodolites that Wild Heerbrugg of Switzerland produced.  It was a very successful attempt to
create a self reading tachymeter that would simply not give the slope distance to the holding assistant holding the vertical reference staff, but the horizontally reduced distance and the height difference.
RDS stand for Reduction Distance meter for a vertical staff.  From the serial number the instrument appears to be from the mid 1960's.  As can be seen in the pictures, in units in great shape and include the original metal carrying case as well as the original leather strap.  It appears to have seen very little use in the field.  The unit is from a collectors estate that I am assisting with and this was his best surveying instrument.
In the first few photo's, the unit in shown in it internal protective frame that protects the unit inside the case.....in the later photo's I removed the protective frame so you could get a good look  at the units condition.
